Johnny Depp goes Disney Crazy! Pirates 4, Alice in Wonderland, and The Lone Ranger!
Holy crap! Johnny Depp has set up camp over at Disney and it looks like he's going to stay awhile. Johnny Depp had agreed to come back as Captain Jack Sparrow in 'Pirates of the Caribbean part 4', Tonto in Jerry Bruckheimer's 'The Lone Ranger', and The Mad Hatter in Tim Burtons 'Alice in Wonderland'. Amazing. He's been made. I can see him in every one of those roles except Tonto. Shouldn't an American Indian be playing Tonto? Hold on, I just found out he is part Cherokee. It's no surprise that he is going to be in Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland'. The thing about about Alice though is that it is going to be shot using 3D performance capture technology, like what was used for 'Beowulf. It should be really interesting to see Tim Burton work in this kind of medium, I believe this will be his first time working with it.
Along with this Johnny Depp news comes more Disney news. 'Cars 2' is being moved up a year to be released 2011. Disney will also open up 'Cars Land' that same year at Disneyland. It will be a 12 acre section of California Adventure. I wasn't a big fan of the first cars film, but I'm not surprised they are doing a sequel.
It was also Announced that Bruckheimer and Nicolas Cage are going to team up again for a third 'National Treasure' film. I guess we are going to find out what is in that book of secrets.
There is a lot going on over at the mouse house right now. I gotta say I am pretty excited for most of the above. What do you think? Re you getting a little Johnny Depped out? Has he sold out to Disney?
