Steve Carell to star in Golfing Comedy MISSING LINKS

I think Steve Carell is a funny dude, the guy makes me laugh in everything that he does, even if the movie sucks. I know there are some people out there that for some reason, don't think he's funny, and I can't understand why. But that's cool. To each their own.

It's looking like Carell will produce and possibly star in a new golfing comedy called Missing Links, which is based on the novel by ESPN's Rick Reilly. Carell would play a golfer angling for a better place to play. The story follows a group of bumblers who, after playing for years at a run-down municipal golf course in a working-class Boston neighborhood, concoct a series of schemes that they hope will lead to them teeing off at a nearby elite club.

That definitely sounds like something Carell who fit into. The guy that wrote The Break-Up, Jay Lavender is writing the script.

There have been some great golf comedies throughout the years like; Caddyshack, which had the 80's, and Happy Gilmore which had the 90's. Those are two simply fantastic comedies, golf or not. I wonder if Missing Links has what it takes to join the ranks of the classic golf comedies. I sure hope so. I haven't read the book that the movie is based off of, but if you have, let me know you thought about it. So what do you think of this new golf comedy?
