DVD Review: The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto
As Rob Zombie is having a hit and miss with his movies The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto is definately a home run! Zombie brings his hit comic book to the screen with this fun and frightful goul fest, that only he could do! This is not for your kids!
Halloween 2 seemed to let a lot of fans down but El Superbeasto has emerged from the grave of animation going full speed(in his Dragula)! This great little cartoon flick reminds me of Saturday morning cartoons(only slightly and without the cartoon nudity), yes it has that and it's crazy fun if i do say so! Not since Heavy Metal and F.A.K.K. 2 have we seen this kind of cartoon flesh exploited!
El Superbeasto(Tom Papa), with his gigantic ego, funny one liners and his sister/side-kick Suzi X(Sheri Moon Zombie) meet up with the likes of stripper in distress Velvet Von Black (Rosario Dawson) all the way to a name we heard in way back in Zombie's House Of 1000 Corpses who is none other than Dr. Satan(Paul Giamatti), who in my mind has stolen the show and counters El Superbeasto with his own little one liners!
There is demon chasing, goul gashing, monster slaying and devil chasing going on from beginning to end, heck there's even a monkey side-kick for Dr. Satan and a robot side-kick in love named Murray(Brian Posehn) for Suzi X, so everybody has a side-kick!
The animation is top notch, Zombie has his bright and neon like colors thrown in all through this fantastic fright-fest! It can get busy at times but this is a fun movie! This thing even has cameos from Michael Myers to Fritz "the freakin" Cat, oh there are more, I only named a few!
Go watch this movie! Heck it's worth buying!
There are not alot of extras but the fun movie makes up for it, although Zombie could have thrown in something for us! This to me is the only downside but maybe, just maybe there will be a Director's Cut or Special Edition one day!
8 out of 10 Zombie's!
