ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Movie is Finally Official!!!

Arrested Development

After nearly a year of speculation and talk of a feature version of Fox's canceled cult comedy hit Arrested Development, ranging from rabidly-invested fans to the creators and stars themselves, it looks like things are officially a go!

THR reports that Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz and his co-executive producer James Vallely are working on a screenplay for the long-debated feature version of their short-lived Emmy-Award winning series.

Hurwitz said that he wouldn't begin writing the script for the film unless the entire main cast including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, David Cross, Arnett, Alia Shawkat, Portia de Rossi, Jeffrey Tambor, Tony Hale, Jessica Walter, and Ron Howard(executive producer and narrator) were locked in and committed to return.

Imagine Entertainment, which produced the TV show, and Fox Searchlight will be behind the film's possible spring production, with Hurwitz directing.

As Hurwitz and Vallely forge ahead, the issue of arranging the schedules of Bateman, Cera and Arnett-- who's careers have sky rocketed since the shows 2003 start-- may be the only hindrance. But I'm sure Arnett will be an easier swing, as he is the star of Hurwitz's new Fox comedy series.

What do you think of Hurwitz and Vallely finally(officially) working on a script for an Arrested Development movie???
