Director Darrne Lynn Bousman is currently shooting his next film which is a remake of the cult classic horror film, Mother's Day. In the remake, three brothers on the run from the law and they go home only to discover that their mother lost the house in a foreclosure. This is a family of psychopaths led by their villainous mother back to the home in which they were raised to terrorize the new owners. In the original film three female friends get together to go camping, they end up in running into a couple of inbred freaks in the back woods who kidnap them and torture them as directed by their mother.
By looking at the photo and behind the scenes footage for the film, it doesn't look like it is going to be as crazy as the original was. I will never watch the original film again, it was pretty disturbing. This film doesn't look like it takes place in any backwoods, and the characters don't look inbred. I won't have a problem watching this one, it looks like it has the feel of most horror films being made these days. Maybe it will be a better film than the vibe I am getting from what has been released for it so far, after all Bousman is directing and he's a decent director. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
The film stars Jaime King, Deborah Ann Woll, Briana Evigan, Alexa Vega, Shawn Ashmore, Matt O'Leary, Lyriq Bent, Lisa Marcos, Patrick Flueger, AJ Cook, J. LaRose and Warren Kole.
