Marvel Casts THOR'S The Warriors Three
Marvels Thor is currently prepping up for a a mid-January shoot. Rehearsals are underway, actors are training physically, and director Kenneth Branagh is getting his head deep in the playbook. And now we finally know who Marvel has cast as The Warriors Three! Stuart Townsend (Queen of the Damned), Ray Stevenson (The Punisher, Rome) and Tadanobu Asano (Mongol)have been cast to play Fandral, Hogun and Volstagg, a trio of Asgardian adventurers who fight alongside the Norse god.
I assume Townsend will play Fandral, Stevenson will play Volstagg, and Asano will play Hogun.
The three new actors join a cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Samuel L. Jackson and Stellan Skarsgard.
The film has brought together some great talent and I think Townsend, Stevenson and Asano will make a great addition to the production. It looks like they've got what it takes to pull off these classic characters.
The studio is aiming for a May 20, 2011 release date.
