Below is a new poster for the upcoming vampire thriller Daybreakers, which was written and directed by the Spierig brothers. The news has been few and far between since the first Trailer debuted back in June. But with the release of this new poster, and the Viral TV spot that debuted this morning, we're reminded that the January 8th, 2010 release is rapidly approaching.
Ethan Hawke stars as Edward Dalton, a researcher in the year 2019, where an unknown plague has transformed the world’s population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires are faced with a dwindling blood supply, and must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a covert group of vampires lead by a man named Elvis(Willem Dafoe), makes a remarkable discovery, one which has the power to save humankind. Sam Neill and Isabel Lucas(Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) round out the cast.
Aside from having another vampire named Edward running around, this looks like it'll restore vampire cred across the board. I'm really impressed with the scope, tone and premise of the film. The first poster captured the scope better, the new one is a little cheap looking.
