Katie Holmes replaces Liv Tyler in THE ROMANTICS
Katie Holmes is a name we aren't use to hearing these days since she married Tom Cruise. She has made a couple crappy little films. She definitely didn't marry Tom Cruise to help her acting career. Variety reports that she will be replacing Liv Tyler in a little independent romantic comedy film called, The Romantics.
She has come on to take the lead role and executive produce the film which also stars Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody and Jeremy Strong.
The film revolves around eight friends from college who reunite for a wedding. Holmes, fresh off her role in Miramax's Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, will play Laura, the maid of honor to Anna Paquin's Lila, the bride. Laura and Lila are best friends who both have a past with the groom (Duhamel).
The movie has a fun little cast. As long as the writing and story are good, this could end up being a decent romantic comedy. Theres no details on why Tyler left the project. The movie starts shooting next week.
