Ryan Reynolds talks about his Excitment for GREEN LANTERN

Ryan Reynolds was cast as Hal Jordan in the new Warner Bros. Green Lantern film a few months ago. There was mostly a positive response from fans when the news broke, sprinkled with some negativity. I think he's gonna do a great job in the role and I have a feeling once people see him in the role most people are going to love it. Martin Campbell is directing the film, which is currently prepping to shoot early next year. Obviously Reynolds has seen the designs and prototypes for the film, and has most likely tried on a costume or two. He recently talked to MTV and unleashed his excitement for taking on the role for the first time since he was cast.

I've known about Green Lantern my whole life, but I've never really followed it before. I fell in love with the character when I met with [director] Martin Campbell. When I sat down with him, I really got what it is that this guy is all about. When you have a guy like Martin Campbell, part of his charm is that he has ba--s of titanium, and the other part is that he's slightly crazy, and you have to be to take on something with the scope of Green Lantern. He's less of the director and more of a general. He just really knows strategies, he knows the intricacies, and his attention to detail! It's infectious. I sat down with him, and I could not even believe what he was saying. When I went to the meeting, I was entirely cynical. I thought, "What the hell, I'll see what they have to say," and I left the room with a completely different perspective.

Sounds like Martin Campbell is the man for the job, Reynolds obviously likes the guy and what he is planning on doing with the film.  This is some great news! It's got me feeling even more confident in this DC WB film project. After the success of Batman, I don't think Warner Bros. is going to screw this up.

So what do you all think?
