The Hobbit is a film we are all no doubt 100% excited for. But Peter Jackson recently revealed to the German site MovieReporter.net that The Hobbit and its sequel wont start shooting until mid-summer 2010. It was supposed to start shooting in March, so its been pushed back a few months. Here is what Jackson had to say:

We're currently working on the second script which we hope to have completed by the end of this year or beginning of next. When the scripts are completed, we can begin with the exact calculation of the necessary budget. We hope to start filming in the middle of next year. However, we've received no green light from the studio yet.

So they haven't even received an official green light yet. I wouldn't worry about it though, there's no way this film wont get made. I'm thinking that the green light won't happen until the whole MGM studio problems are cleared up. The film is set to come out December 2012, hopefully the release date doesn't get pushed back as well!
