If you've seen the movie Taken, which starred Liam Neeson, then you know director Pierre Morel is a great director that can blend action and story together brilliantly. He has signed on to direct a film called, Signals, which is being put on the fast track. The script to the film was bought last April by Media Rights Capital and it was written by Richard Potter and Matthew Stravitz.

The story for the film is being kept under wraps, but it's expected to take on the tone of a 1970s-era paranoid thriller like Three Days of the Condor, which was a great movie.

I love 70's films, it's some of the greatest filmmaking Hollywood has ever produced! It would be great if we can get more films like that. I wish we knew more about the story, but it will come in time.  As of right now, we can get excited for the fact that Morel has his next directing gig, lined up, and I love the 70's tone they are looking for. Morel is a former camera operator and cinematographer who spun similarly gritty material with Taken's kidnapping/revenge plot.

MRC Films president Tory Metzger says:

Pierre Morel is one of the most exciting filmmakers to emerge in years. Audiences have come to expect edge-of-their-seat action from him, and we are confident this next film will deliver just that.

I couldn't agree with him more. Morel's next film is From Paris With Love, which is being prepped for a February 5th 2010 release date.
