KICK-ASS Sequel gets a Title and Find out who else could have played Big Daddy

Have I told you lately how excited I am to see Kick-Ass? Well I am excited and you should be too. The movie is going to be a bloody good time. The creator of the comic book Mark Millar recently did a little interview in which he talks about the "making of" book for the movie called, Kick-Ass: Creating the Comic, Making the Movie. The book is packed full of great information like concept art for the comic and film, interviews with the cast and crew of the movie, and different directions the story could have gone.

One bit of information I found interesting was, that before Nicolas cage was cast as the character Big Daddy, the filmmakers were considering casting Mark Wahlberg or Daniel Craig in the role. Daniel Craig would have been awesome!

In the interview Millar was asked if we would see the story continue after the first comic volume is finished and the film is released.

Are you kidding me? Kick-Ass is the most fun I’ve ever had ever on a project. It’s not only the best response Johnny [Romita Jr., the artist] and I have ever had, but we outsold everybody. Every issue had three, four, five printings. And our overall sales are more than 130,000 per issue. We always saw this as at least a trilogy. There might even be more. I had the whole second series worked out two years ago.

I love the comic book, if you haven't read it I strongly suggest you start. It's incredibly entertaining. He goes on to say what the sequel's title would be and when it will be released.

The working title is Balls to the Wall, and we’re thinking about launching it round about San Diego time, right around August. But to avoid delays, we’d like to stockpile a few issues, I think.

I am pretty confident that this first Kick-Ass film is going to do fairly well, which means we are most likely going to make a sequel. In previous interviews the Kick-Ass creative folks have said that they want to get right into production on the sequel as soon as they can before the young stars that were cast in the film start getting to old. I love his description of the people who are going to love this movie.

I think anybody who is slightly mentally ill is going to love it.

I guess we all know where I stand. I suggest you head on over to ComicBookResources to read the full interview with Mark Millar, and also check out some more concept art like we have below.
