21 JUMP STREET Film Gets the Cloudy Meatballs Directors

The 21 Jump Street movie is another step closer to actually getting made. It looks like the two directors that made the hilarious CGI animated film, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, are currently in negotiations with FOX to take on the directing duties for 21 Jump Street. This will be the first live-action film for directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller

The film was written by actor Jonah Hill and Michael Bacall. Hill is also serving as executive producer on the project. He has described the film as being a full on action film where they are going to be blowing sh*t up, and that it will be an R-rated, insane, Bad-Boys-meets-John Hughes-type movie.

Directors Catherine Hardwicke (Lords of Dog Town) and Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) have also been in mix of possibly directing this movie. I would be happy to see any of these four directors take on the project. Each of them have their talents that would make 21 Jump Street a decent film. But as of right now Lord and Miller are at the negotiation table so it looks like they might actual be the ones bringing 21 Jump Street to the big screen.

Any thoughts on 21 Jump Street being adapted into a film or the directors involved?
