Hugh Jackman Cast in Antoine Fuqua's PRISONERS

This film Prisoners has been drawing the attention of some big name actors while going through its development stages. We've heard about actors such as Russell Crowe, Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg being involved with it. In fact the last thing I heard on the film was that both Bale and Wahlberg were actually attached to star in the film. Now according to local officials from Derby Connecticut where the film will be shooting, Hugh Jackman is starring in the film.

So did Fuqua drop Bale and Wahlberg when he took on the project or has Jackman just been added onto this already great cast? We don't really know at this point. I would think he is an addiction to the cast. If thats true the movie just got that much "more better."

This is very high profile film that Hollywood is very excited about getting made. Here is a basic rundown of the story:

After a man's 6-year-old daughter and her friend are kidnapped, a small-town carpenter butts heads with a young, brash detective in charge of the investigation.  The father is a Bible-reading, deer-hunting survivalist. The cop, meanwhile, can’t wait to get back to the city. Feeling failed by the law, the father captures the man he believes responsible and begins to torture him in a desperate attempt to find out what he did with the girls, whom he’s convinced are still alive.

This sounds like it's going to be an incredibly intense movie. 

I'm sure we'll get official word soon enough about who is actually going to star in the film.
