David Lynch's MULHOLLAND DRIVE Named Best Film of the Decade by Critics

I honestly didn't see this one coming, but the David Lynch directed film Mulholland Drive was chosen as the best film of the decade according to indieWIRE. As much as I think the film is great, I wouldn't say that it's the best film of the decade. But that's just me. I will admit that this film jacked me up when I saw it. 

indieWIRE polled more than 100 film critics and bloggers for it's annual best of the year list, and with the decade also coming to a close they also polled them on the best film of the Decade. The result was Mulholland Drive.

This film was actually supposed to be a TV pilot for ABC. They declined to to pick up the show so Lynch shot some additional scenes for it and turned it into a movie. The film launched Naomi Watts' career.

The film was released in 2001, and David Lynch shared the Best Director award with The Coen Brothers. It has been the subject of academic study since the film was first released and it's been discussed and debated by critics and bloggers for years.
