First Look: THE EAGLE OF THE NINTH with Channing Tatum as a Roman Soldier

Channing Tatum has traded in his G.I. Joe accelerator suit for a 2nd century Roman suit of armor in the new film his is starring in called, The Eagle of the Ninth

The Eagle of the Ninth is set in the dangerous world of second-century Britain. In 140 AD, twenty years after the unexplained disappearance of the entire Ninth Legion in the mountains of Scotland, young centurion Marcus Aquila (Tatum) arrives from Rome to solve the mystery and restore the reputation of his father, the commander of the Ninth. Accompanied only by his British slave Esca (Bell), Marcus sets out across Hadrian's Wall into the uncharted highlands of Caledonia - to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father's memory, and retrieve the lost legion's golden emblem, the Eagle of the Ninth.

The film is being directed by Kevin Macdonald and also stars Jamie Bell, Donald Sutherland, Mark Strong and Tahar Rahim.

The film seems to have a pretty solid cast. It seems that its weakest cast member is the main character, Channing Tatum. This guy just has no acting skills. It will be interesting to see if he tries to pull off an accent in this film.

I'm looking at these pictures and I just don't see this guy as a roman soldier. Check out the pics below and let us know what you think.
