UPDATED: THE GOON First Look Movie Photo and Concept Art

by Joey Paur

Back in July of last year we reported that David Fincher would be involved with a movie adaptation of the cult comic book 'The Goon' which was created by Eric Powell. It was also revealed at the time that it would be a full CGI film. I thought that would be a perfect medium to tell this story in. I was really interested to see how they would end up pulling it off and what it would look like but now we don't have to wait any longer. AICN has released two screen shots from the CGI animated 'The Goon' and I love everything that I see! Check it out! Click on the photos for a Hi Res look.

I love the detail that has been put into these photos from the film. I love the whole fleshed out world that they are creating from the comic. It translates so well with this medium. I am incredibly excited to see what this movie will look like fully completed. And I am pretty sure since Fincher is involved we are going to get a great story out of this film as well. Here is a description of what The Goon is about incase you have not read the comic.

The story is about the adventures of the Goon, a muscle-bound brawler who claims to be the primary enforcer for the feared mobster Labrazio. The Goon (and his sidekick Franky) often get tied up in other machinations, often in relation to the evil zombie gangs under the command of the Nameless Zombie Priest. The series has a distinctly paranormal slant, with the average story concerning ghosts, ghouls, skunk-apes with an unnatural hunger for pie, extra-dimensional aliens, and mad scientists.

I am still not what role David Fincher will play but it will most likely be as executive producer. I'm looking forward to this one. So what are your thoughts about 'The Goon' and these pictures?
