Alfred Molina cast in Disney's THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE

by Joey Paur

I have to say Alfred Molina being cast as the evil sorcerer in Disney's live action fantasy film 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' is perfect casting! The film is based off of Disney's animated classic 'Fantasia'. The movie is being produced by none other than Jerry Bruckheimer and is being directed by Jon Turtltaub. Nicholas Cage has already been cast as the sorcerer and Jay Baruchel will play the young apprentice. The movie will take place in modern day, New York City.

It's great that they have cast Alfred Molina, he just got finished acting in another Bruckheimer film 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time'. To be honest I am once again not too thrilled that NicK Cage has been cast as the sorcerer. I just don't see it. I can't imagine him as a sorcerer, I just can't! But it makes sense that Disney would cast him. Cage and Turtltaub have worked together before on the 'National Treasure' movies.  Regardless of what we all think of Nick Cage and his hair which should look interesting in this movie, the movie will start shooting later this month in New York City.
