Chris Pine Has not Been Offered the Role of GREEN LANTERN yet.

by Joey Paur

Not too long ago rumors started that Chris Pine was at the top of a short list of actors to take on the role of Hal Jordan in Warner Bros. Green Lantern movie. We haven't heard anything since this all went down. Now Pine who plays Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams Star Trek film talks about what is really going on, and as of right now he has not been offered the Green Lantern role. Pine says:

"I had a meeting with [casting director] Pam Dixon and [executive producer] Donald De Line, but a meeting was all it was. I have not been offered squat. I do not have the part and haven’t read a script.”

The meeting happened which means the studio must have been interested in him, who knows if this interest lives on in the minds of the WB executives. There still is a possibility he will be offered the part, but would he take it?  He is not a comic book fan.

“I’m not a big comic book fan, I’m a fan of stories. So if there’s a story to be told, I love to tell a good story. But there’s not a particular superhero or comic book character that I’d like to play.”

I just would like to point out that if Pine is a fan of stories then he should be a fan of comic books, because comic books tell some great freakin stories! So it is safe to say if he likes the story he will take the role if it is offered to him. Well, it is really easy for him to get to know what the story is. He doesn't have to wait for the script he can go to him local comic book store and pick up some Green Lantern comics.

If they drive a ice cream truck full of money to his house I am sure he won' t say no, no matter what the script is like. After all, the guy did take a role in the film 'Smokin Aces'.

Any thoughts?
