Rock Band: Beatles

This whole The Beatles: Rock Band video game just got a hell of allot more interesting and awesome. I thought it was a great idea before this news hit today, but this just takes it to a whole new level greatness. Obviously I am a a fan of The Beatles.

Apple Corps Ltd and EMI Music are using this video game release as an excuse to remaster the ENTIRE Beatles catalog which will go right along with the release of the game on September 9th. Here are the details.

Each of the new CDs is packaged with replicated original UK album art, including expanded booklets containing original and newly written liner notes and rare photographs. Each CD will be embedded with a documentary film about the album too.

All of the Beatles music you will ever want or need! Two new Beatles boxed CD collections will be released on the 9th. The first box will contain the stereo mixes of all twelve "original" Beatles albums, Magical Mystery Tour, and Past Masters Vol. I and II. That's 14 titles on 16 discs.

The second Beatles box is aimed at purists and collectors. It will contain all of the Beatles recordings that were mixed for a mono release -- ten albums in their original mono glory, plus two discs of mono masters. As an added bonus, the mono Help! and Rubber Soul discs also include the original 1965 stereo mixes, which have not been previously released on CD. These albums will be packaged in mini-vinyl CD replicas of the original sleeves with all original inserts and label designs retained.

And in case you were wondering. These songs will still NOT be available for download.
