Is there a GREEN LANTERN Trilogy planned?
It's not really a stretch for me or anyone else to think we are going to to get more than one 'Green Lantern' movie. Warner Bros and DC would love it if the first one does well so they could move forward creating a film franchise for the character!
Terrence Howard recently talked to MTV about how he felt about getting the boot from 'Iron Man 2' and being replaced by Don Cheadle. What it all came down to is that he is now looking at roles to play within the DC comic universe to help rival Marvel. One of the superheroes that was brought up was Green Lantern in which he say's:
"[H]e doesn't become black until the third [Green Lantern]. I think they're planning to take those steps. We'll see, I haven't felt those out yet."
Third Green Lantern Movie? So did he just reveal that if the franchise continues on to a third movie we will see John Stewart who is the black Green Lantern possibly played by Terrance Howard? So he either knows something that we don't because he has been in contact with the producers of the movie or he just has a overly excited imagination. Whatever the case I am sure we are going to see more than one Green Lantern film. He goes on to tell us what comic book character he is currently interested in playing.
“Black Lightning, I don’t think he’s really been explored.”
And if your interested about what he said regarding Marvel ditching him for Don he say's:
“I think they always wanted Don Cheadle from the very start, and it’s nice that they get what they want. They could be a little nicer about it. You don’t make 800 million dollars and then try and shake everyone down. That’s not nice. [T]hey did the same thing to Gwyneth. They came in strong, heavy-handed. You know, life pays everyone back.”
Personally I am am pretty excited for both Iron Man 2 and Green Lantern. I have faith that Warner Bros. will give us the Green Lantern movie we all want to see. What do you think?
