The incredibly awesome Electronic Arts video game Dead Space is going to be adapted into a live action sci-fi horror film of death, and it will be directed by D.J. Caruso, who is the guy that made Eagle Eye and Disturbia, both staring Shia LaBeouf, so will he have a role in Dead Space as well? I sure hope not.

If you've played the video game then you know how awesome a live action movie could be. There was an animated movie made that went straight to DVD for Dead Space as well, which was pretty cool. As of right now EA and Caruso are taking pitches from potential screenwriters. Once a screenwriter is chosen they will start shopping the movie idea around to other studios.

If your not sure what Dead Space is about, it is set in the 26th century in deep space, where an engineer who responds to a distress signal from a mining ship finds the vessel infested with monstrous creatures called Necromorphs. The creatures are human corpses, reanimated by an alien virus.

I am interested to see what Caruso will bring to the project as a director. I don't think he is a bad director at all, but I'm also not sure if this project is something he can pull off. I guess we'll have to wait and see what he has planned when he starts talking about it.
