I cannot wait to see Spike Jonez's new film Where The Wild Things Are. If you have seen the trailer, then you know how amazing this film looks like it is going to be. One of the things I took from the trailer was the fact that this movie would most likely have a wonderful soundtrack, and after coming across the following information, and listening to the first song from the album today, I am confident this is going to be a very fun and unique soundtrack.
The Soundtrack got itself a name and it will be called Karen O and The Kids. The guests that Joined Karen O on this musical journey include, members of the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Jonze's brother, producer Squeak-E Clean, Bradford Cox of Deerhunter, Yeah Yeah Yeahs/Folk Implosion collaborator Imaad Wasif and Jack Lawrence of The Raconteurs and Dead Weather? Dean Fertita (member of Queens of the Stone Age, The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs), Liars' guitarist Aaron Hemphill, the Bird and the Bee's Greg Kurstin, Services' Tristan Bechet, and Gris Gris's Oscar Michel, as well as a children's choir who have evidently contributed to a soundtrack that will include songs and soundscapes.
Here is what Karen O said regarding the soundtrack:
We wrote music that would be easy for kids to sing along with. The songs have that innocence and spirit with poppy hooks here and there. Simple, emotional, sweet stuff.
I absolutely loved the first song that has been released for the film! It has the perfect feel for what this movie involves. Now enough talk about how awesome this soundtrack is going to be! Listen to the first song that has been released and judge for yourself!
