UPDATE:

The reports coming in from the U.K. that UFC Fighter Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson will be playing B.A Baracus in the new A-Team movie are false.

MTV reached out to Jackson's publicist who checked with the fighter's manager, as Jackson himself is currently on hiatus. The response? "His manager said it wasn't true."

What a shame. Jackson would've been perfect. Which is probably why the story was believable in the first place, as opposed to say Megan Fox as Catwoman.

We can only hope the overwhelmingly positive response to Jackson being cast will help light the fire under the studios butts to cast the role.

We'll keep you updated as this story develops.

Drum roll please... No. Drum rolls don't really work in the written word.

Ok, imagine there's a drum roll going because this is a long time coming. They have been slowly rounding up cast memebers for the big-screen adaptation of the t.v show The A-Team. And now they have finally settled on a choice for B.A Baracus. And the man who'll be in the mohawk and chains is....

... UFC Fighter Quiton 'Rampage ' Jackson. Who's already in chains. Wow, that easy.

He's got the look, he got he 'tude. But can he act? Does he really need to know how to act? Not really. He just needs to know how to be bad ass, or B.A. And anyone who can fight like him is B.A in my book. So no complaints from my end.

Reports say that Jackson landed the role after his charismatic auditions impressed the film's bosses, beating out rapper The Game, Common and Tyrese Gibson who had all been rumored to be up for the role made famous by Mr. T.

Jackson will join the already confirmed members of the cast. Liam Neeson is playing Col. John “Hannibal” Smith and Bradley Cooper(The Hangover) will play Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck. The role of Murdock is still to be cast.

The A-Team is being produced by Ridley and Tony Scott. And Joe Carnahan who made Smokin’ Aces, is directing the movie.

The movie will be about four war vets wrongly convicted of armed robbery who escape from a military prison to become do-gooder mercenaries. But they’ve replaced the campy nature of the series with a tone closer to those of “Mission: Impossible” and “Ocean’s Eleven.”

So what do you think of Quinton 'Rampage Jackson' as B.A. Baracus?
