Vanquish Motion Pictures have aquired the frights the the fantasy/epic graphic novel, DavaShard, after a long a grueling bidding war anfter the novel debuted at San Diego's Comic-Con.

The epic tale of DevaShard is inspired by Asian mythology and crafted by Fluid Comic's Zen, Keith Burns and Johnny Tam, centers on two forsaken sons, one born of darkness, the other of light, struggling to find their place in a grim world riddled with corrupt kingdoms, cursed demons and terrifying magic. The DevaShard series is published by Fluid Comics seniors Simon Squibb and Helen Griffiths and has been met with rave reviews since its Asia release.

Bhumi is the world in which DevaShard and the stories in other titles will take place. As with our own Earth, Bhumi contains many lands, each of which has different landscapes, individual weather patterns and its own wildlife. Of course each land is also populated by people and they each have their own appearance, history, culture, style and civilizations. Some parts of Bhumi are populated by older and darker creatures.

Now that they have the rights they are moving on the production quickly. Jay Douglas and Nav Gupta of Vanquish Motion Pictures will produce and co-write the film with Heather Kenealy, from a screen treatment by Kevin Grevioux, co-creator of the Underworld franchise, who has just been tapped to adapt the 25 issue book, as well as exec produce.

Jay Douglas had this to say:

The densely diverse world and characters which DevaShard possesses is just too damn cool not to be seen on screen.

Nav Gupta adds:

Not only is the cover art by Frank Cho and Simon Bisley amazing, but the book's stylized visuals and east-meets-west flare are seriously insane.

I have no doubt that if the movie gets decent funding and these guys have a solid vision for the film that this movie will end up being epically incredible. What do you all think?
