Since last night, Rob Liefeld has been keeping us updated on the upcoming Deadpool movie, Fox's spin-off of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which featured the Marvel Comics cult favorite merc with a mouth. So what does the creator of Deadpool and other fan favorites like Cable and Domino think about the direction producer Lauren Schuler Donner and her team are going with the Deadpool Movie? He's floored!

Liefeld said, via his Twitter Page:

Great Deadpool movie meeting! Lauren Schuler Donner and her team are headed in the right direction!

How amazing is that? I have to admit, there's still a bad taste in my mouth from the liberties Fox took with the character in this years Wolverine movie. But it looks like we're gonna finally get to see a Deadpool that is faithful to the way Liefeld created him back in the early 90's with his New Mutants comic series.

Liefeld also added just hours ago:

Donner Company is on top of making the Deadpool movie that fans want. They get it. He's funny, tortured, clever, a bastard and mucho action!

Concerning some of the most iconic elements of the character, Liefeld broke down what they've got so far:

Deadpool movie checklist- DP in costume-check! Breaking 4th wall-check! Loads of killing-double check!

And though we've already known this for some time, Liefeld confirms:

Deadpool movie- YES! Ryan Reynolds is on board!!!

Concerning one of Liefeld's other creations that has long been paired with and against Deadpool, Liefeld said:

Also excited to discuss possibilities of Cable in future X-films!!!

The time traveling aged son of Jean Grey and Scott Summers(Cyclops) in an alternate timeline, Cable has one of the most complicated story lines. But it's good to hear that they are working with Liefeld himself to help usher him into the X-Men movies. Hopefully Cable can change the fact that Brett Ratner killed of his dad in the last movie. (I'm not talking about stopping Jean Grey from doing it. I'm talking about not having Ratner direct it.)

With the frenzy of speculation that his Cable update caused, Liefeld cleared it up this morning, saying:

Clarification, Cable definitely NOT in Deadpool movie, but possible role in future X-films....not First Class.

So what do you guys think of Rob Liefeld's approval of the direction that Donner and co. are taking with the Deadpool spin-off film?
