5 Movies We Never Get Tired of Watching

They’re only a handful of movies in the world that a person can watch over and over again, and not get tired of it. Most movies you can watch a few times but then it starts to get old and what’s the point of watching it anymore if your board with it? But then there are those gems, those films that no matter how many times you see them they never get old. Here is a list of five films that fit this category.

The Shawshank Redemption

This is a timeless classic and one of the most perfect movies ever made. It follows a man who is accused of killing his wife and spends two decades in prison for a crime he may not have committed, all along planning the ultimate escape. I see this movie on TV all time. If I’m flipping through the channels and come across it, I always stop to watch no matter what point in the movie it’s in… even though I own it on Blu-ray.

What makes this movie so enjoyable is the story. As depressing as it seems it’s one of the best-feel good movies of all time. No, it's not overrated.

Ferris Beuller’s Day off

Now here’s a kick-back 80’s comedy about an uber popular high school kid that ditches school for a day with his two closest friends. This is a movie anyone can enjoy. I’ve been watching this movie over and over again since it came out in 1986 and I still get a kick out of it!

I love that the main character speaks to the audience throughout the movie sharing his thoughts and techniques, it’s what makes this movie a brilliant comedy. (It's also the aspect of the movie that almost had Mathew Broderick turn it  down!)

Ghostbusters

GHOSTBUSTERS

You can never go wrong with Ghostbusters. The fact that a team of scientists come together to bust ghosts make this the ultimate geek film experience. It’s got everything a movie lover needs and the comedy is top notch.

Every scene of this movie has something that will make you laugh. This could possibly be the most quotable movie of all time.

This is Spinal Tap

Watching this movie will give you the best abdominal workout you ever had due to the constant laughing fits you will have to endure through the whole experience. This mockumentary/rockumentary is the parody of a heavy metal rock band named Spinal Tap. I’ve seen the movie countless times and every time it makes me laugh.

I am always finding something new in it that I hadn’t noticed before. Which in a way makes the movie funnier every time I see it.

Empire of the Sun

I’m gonna come right out and say it. This is Steven Spielberg’s best movie of his career, and it’s one that I’ve never grown tired of watching. Like The Shawshank Redemption, this is a perfect film. One that’s been overlooked by so many people. It follows a boy's journey through WWII in China and how he goes from being a spoiled rich British kid living in China with his family, to being placed in a Japanese prisoner camp where he is forced to learn to survive.

You might be interested to know that the boy in the movie is played by a young Christian Bale, and his performance in it was Oscar worthy. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I love the feeling that this movie gives me when I watch it, and there’s important lessons to be learned from it.

What are some of your favorite films that you will never grow tired of watching?
