Charlie Sheen to Make a Cameo in WALL STREET 2: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS

As you may have heard here on GeekTyrant, Oliver Stone is going to make a sequel to his 1987 film, Wall Street. Michael Douglas will be back to reprise his original role as Gordon Gekko, The rest of the cast includes Shia LaBeouf as Jake Moore, a young trader who is the fiancé of Gekko’s daughter, played by Carey Mulligan; Josh Brolin as the head of an investment bank; Frank Langella as Jake’s mentor; and Susan Sarandon as Jake’s mother. And then there is the news that Charlie Sheen, who played the central role of Bud Fox, a young trader, in the original, will make a cameo in the sequel.

I think it's great that Sheen will be back to make a cameo in the film! That bit of news makes me happy.

Here is a little plot summary of the film:

As the global economy teeters on the brink of disaster, a young Wall Street trader partners with disgraced former Wall Street corporate raider Gordon Gekko on a two-tiered mission: To alert the financial community to the coming doom, and to find out who was responsible for the death of the young trader's mentor.

Sounds like a John Grisham Novel. Stone goes into a little more detail on the the story in an interview he did with the NYTimes.

When Gekko comes out of prison in the beginning of this movie, he essentially has to redefine himself, redefine his character. He’s looking for that second chance.

Shooting for the film starts up this week, and it looks like it will be set for release in April of next year by FOX. I am really interested in seeing this movie. I suggest you head on over to the NYTimes to read the rest of the article because it's pretty interesting, and goes into a bit more detail of why they decided to move forward with a sequel, and how it relates to what is currently going on with Wall Street right now.
