Jenna Fischer in talks to join Owen Wilson in the Farrelly Brothers' HALL PASS

New Line is currently in negotiations with The Office's Jenna Fischer to join Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis (SNL, The Cleveland Show) in Hall Pass, a new comedy being directed by the Farrelly brothers.

Fisher would play Wilson's wife, who gives her husband a "hall pass," a free ticket to engage in extramarital encounters. Sudeikis plays Wilson's best friend, who also gets a free pass from his wife, which is still to be cast. Things get complicated when the wives also begin exercising their "hall pass" power.

Pete Jones, writer-director of the direct to DVD-ers Outing Riley and Stolen Summer wrote the spec, which was rewritten by Peter and Bobby Farrelly, along with their Heartbreak Kid co-writer Kevin Barnett

Bradley Thomas and The Farrellys will produce through their Conundrum Entertainment banner.

The movie will begin lensing on Feb. 23 in Atlanta, which will substitute for New England.

The Farrelly's are on pretty thin ice with me since The Heartbreak Kid, and the writing team they have for Hall Pass doesn't do any sort of redeeming. But with the great male casting (Sudeikis deserves to be in more movies!) , and the prospects of adding the very talented Ms. Fischer, I'm still hoping this is good. A semi-recent random viewing of Fever Pitch, which ended up being waaay better than I thought it would be, gives me hope as well. But if this isn't good... what chance does The Three Stooges have?
