Well, we all knew it was going to get made so it’s no surprise to me that Warner Bros. gave Green Lantern the official green light. The visual effects supervisor on the movie Karen Goulekas announced the news on her blog. What does this mean? It means Green Lantern will start shooting in 10 weeks. Here is what she wrote:
Wow! Been a long time since I posted! But today is a day worth posting about!
Green Lantern got the official green light today! And not a second too soon - only 10 weeks out from shooting!
While it's great news we are a go - now we have to actually get our prep done in 10 weeks!
But we have an amazing crew - so we will make it happen!
That would be a pretty cool movie to work on. In an earlier blog post from her she said that the film will include over 1300 effects shots.
The movie is being directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royal) and Ryan Reynolds is set to play Hal Jordan. The movie is set to come out on June 17th 2011.
