A-Team Director Joe Carnahan will Write and Direct UMBRA

Movie Joe Carnahan by Joey Paur

Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, Smoking Aces) is set to write and direct a new thriller Umbra for Endgame Entertainment.

The film is based on a screenplay by Steven Karczynski, which centers on a businessman finding a mysterious package in his mailbox and being thrust into the middle of a secret government agency conspiracy. Running for his life while piecing together the clues, the man learns some startling truths about himself and his unwitting connection to the agency that's hunting him.

Hal Lieberman and Endgame's James D. Stern and Doug Hanson are producing the film. They hope to turn this story into a franchise. Stern had this to say,

Joe is a master storyteller of action films and we are thrilled to have him on board this project and excited by his vision for this potential franchise.

Carnahan is a director that likes to have some fun over the top elements in his films, and this is a story it sounds like he can have fun brining to life. He is currently in pre-production on the movie The Grey.
