GeekTyrant October Zombie Fest: AUTOMATON TRANSFUSION

Automaton Transfusion (2006)

Continuing with our month long Zombie Fest (a Fest where we celebrate zombies), my next pick is Steven C. Miller's Automaton Transfusion.  This film not only caught the eyes of the suits at Dimension but it set the standard (to me) for a low budget films that can get exposure and noticed. First off you have the name, which I mispronounced for the first two years until I had some good zombie sense slapped into me.  Secondly you have some friends who make a movie and it becomes a cult classic!

This Florida based film with a budget of less than $50,000 also has put Miller on the map, with several projects in the works including one of the new After Dark Originals entitled 'Scream of the Banshee' and a newly released short promo called 'Granny' which you can watch right here on GT! His name has even been attached for the remake of 'Motel Hell', I still have my potato sack ready Steven!

Getting back to AT, this film follows some high school kids battling zombies everywhere. These aren't your slow boring zombies either but the fast "rage' versions which I love with a passion!  There is so much blood , gore, running and more running and plenty of severed parts it's a horror fan's dream. How the film leaves you is a total cliffhanger which means, there are more Automaton Transfusion stories to be told! Be on the lookout for AT-2 in 2012 peeps!

Synopsis:
In the early 1970's when everyone in America was worrying about what was going on in Vietnam, the Unites States Army was secretly developing a way to reanimate the dead. The hope was to have the dead fight instead of the living, but the experiments were shut down when the reanimated corpses were unable to control their hunger for human flesh.

Thirty years later the army has decided to reopen the project. Grover City, because of its remote location, would be the home of their main testing facilities. Without warning the experiments go horribly wrong in Grover City and the DEAD are now on the rampage, eating everyone in sight.

With the town overtaken by Zombies, a group of High School seniors take it upon themselves to fight back and find a cure for this deadly disease.

"Automaton Transfusion" is a non-stop adventure of four friends battling there way through swamps, forests, blood, and ZOMBIES to survive!
