Not even 24 hours have passed since the word got out that Mel Gibson was dropped from the cast of The Hangover 2, and he has been replaced by Liam Neeson.
The role is for a tattoo artist in Bangkok. Apparently, this slinger of ink is an essential key to the guys finding out what happened the night before. Mel would have been great in this role, but not everyone was happy with the casting of the angry Aussie. Now we move on to bigger and better things.
Here is what Neeson had to say about the casting choice:
I just got a call to do a one day shoot on 'Hangover 2' as a tattooist in Thailand, and that's all I know about it," Liam told the trade. "I just laughed my leg off when I saw 'The Hangover, I was shooting in Berlin earlier this year and rented it on the hotel TV.
This shouldn't be too hard for Neeson to pull off. He loves the original film and he will be re-teaming with A-Team co-star Bradley Cooper. The only thing that is holding me back from being totally stoked by this decision is Neeson's lack of comedic performances. Well, the deal is done and he now has the role, so, we will see how well it is done. I would love to know what you think about this casting choice. Until next time, let us know what you think.
