Darren Aronofsky to Direct a Cybernetic Thriller called MACHINE MAN

Darren Aronofsky is set to direct a new sci-fi "cybernetic thriller" film called Machine Man, which will be an adaptation of a story by Max Barry. This film project just seemed to pop out of nowhere!

The film project will be scripted by Mark Heyman, who co-wrote Aronofsky's most recent film, Black Swan. The original story that the film is based off off appeared on the author's website in serial form with a single page released each day as it was written.

Machine Man is described as an "amped up pop-thriller", and it has nothing to do with any Marvel Comics character, this story concerns a tech engineer who grows tired of going through life as an average and unnoticed individual. He ends up replacing parts of his body with titanium upgrades of his own design. He then discovers that he isn't the only one with plans for his new body.

You can actually read the full story, which is available at Barry's website... www.maxbarry.com.

There's no work on when this film will start shooting, but I imagine he will end up making it after he's finished with Wolverine 2.

This is a great story and with Aronofsky attached it should end up being an awesome movie. What do you all think?
