Tom Hanks to Star in Kathryn Bigelow's SLEEPING DOGS?

It looks like Tom Hanks could very well end up taking on the lead role in a new film called Sleeping Dogs (formerly titled Triple Frontier). The film will be directed by Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow. Nothing is set in stone yet, but he's definitely looking into it.

The story for the film is set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, which is a haven for organized crime, and centers on five men of various ages working in the zone.

There was also a previous rumor that listed Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Sean Penn and Jeremy Renner as being up for roles in the film as well. No offers have been made to anyone yet.

Hanks is a great actor that can pull off pretty much anything. I think it would be great to see he and Bigelow collaborate on a film together. Sounds like this could be a pretty intense movie. What do you all think?
