Dan Aykroyd Working on Script GHOSTBUSTERS 3
I want third Ghostbusters movie to happen so bad! As long is it's good though. But, who knows when it's actually going to happen. There's no doubt that the Ghostbusters 3 is currently being developed, people are working on trying to make it happen. The question is, will it ever go in front of cameras? Bill Murray dosen't think so, he's called the project a crock in the past, and doesn't really seem interested in revisiting the Ghostbusters franchise at all. Everyone else seems to be on board with the project though!
In a recent interview Dan Aykroyd reveales that he's currently working on the script for the film which was written by The Office writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. They also wrote Year One which sucked ass. Here is what Aykroyd had to say regarding Murray and his negative thoughts on the script and it's writers,
I think [Bill Murray] was concerned that the writing on Ghostbusters 3 by these guys would not be up to standard, but I can tell you firsthand, I’m working on the script now and those two—Stupnitsky and Eisenberg, [writer-producers of The Office]—wrote Bill the comic role of a lifetime, and the new Ghostbusters and the old are all well represented in it…we have a strong first draft that Harold [Ramis] and I will take back, and I’m very excited about working on it.
Well, that's promising! They wrote Murray a comic role of a lifetime!? That's a pretty big statement. It would be great if it turns out to be true. So from here it looks like Aykroyd and Harold Ramis will be writing the second draft of the script. As far as we know Ivan Reitman is still interested in directing it as well, which would be good.
It would be nice to actually see this movie go into production, it would be even nicer if the film ended up being awesome!
