Production Begins On ALIEN Prequel

We have learned, via tweet from Henry South, a visual FX designer working on the Alien prequel, that production has officially begun!

Here is Henry's tweet:

Started work on alien prequel today!! Absolutely stunning. Worth waiting till late 2011 for peeps! 

It has been reported that Ridley Scott will be returning to the franchise he began with the original film. The search continues to find the perfect leading lady after it was announced that the prequel would feature a new lead character, rather than the iconic Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver.

Currently the list of leading ladies includes Noomi Rapace, Carey Mulligan, Abbie Cornish, Natalie Portman and Olivia Wilde. As of now Rapace, continues to rise to the top and is Scott's current favorite for the part. Right now there is no official release date other than 2011, mentioned above.  

I am on Team Rapace for the lead. Her performances in the Millenium Trilogy were amazing, and I'm certain that she will be great in Sherlock Holmes 2.
