Adrien Brody Wins Lawsuit Over Italian Horror Film

Adrien Brody has won a lawsuit against the producers of the Italian horror movie called Giallo.

On Monday a federal judge ruled that Dario Argento and the others behind the film can't distribute it in the U.S. without Brody being compensated.  Hell, if he worked on it then he needs to get paid! Right?

Remember THR first reported about the $3 million lawsuit last month. Brody argued that producers had lied to keep him from walking off the set after finding out a week into production it was underfunded and they hadn't yet paid him the $640,000 owed into an escrow account. So to keep him attached to the project, he was told new funding was lined up tied to the $2 million sale of the Italian distribution rights. Brody was then asked to sign an agreement to defer payment in exchange for  the "absolute right to withhold consent to the use of his likeness in the Picture" until he was paid.

The DVD cover features two photos of Brody's face.

Brody was unable to completely block the film's sale altogether, but the judge's ruling does make it possible to prevent his likeness from being used in the film, or used to promote it.

This is what the judge said about Brody without an injunction;

"suffering, and will continue to suffer, immediate and irreparable harm"
