Jackie Earle Haley and Chloe Moretz cast in DANCE OF THE MIRLITONS
Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen), Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass), and Bailee Madison (Brothers, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark) have been cast in a new film called Dance of the Mirlitons which also stars the previously cast Kristen Bell.
Evan Greenberg wrote the script for the film which he will also direct. The story centers on an ambitious, slightly overweight ballerina with an overbearing mother (Bell) who will stop at nothing to become a star. The girl enters a Mean Girls-type environment when she has to prove her worth in class.
Madison will play the ballerina in the film, if you've seen the movie Brothers then you know how good of an actress this little girl is, she was amazing in that movie. Moretz will take on the role of the ballerina who is Madison’s nemesis, and Haley is a subtly sadistic Russian ballet teacher of the highest order.
This is going to be one of those indie film dark comedies. They are planning to shoot the film next year.
