ZOMBIELAND 2 Coming To Theaters Soon

Get ready for even more zombies; Zombieland 2 is coming to a theater near you.  In a recent interview with io9, Rhett Reese, the writer of Zombieland, discussed the upcoming sequel.  The original film grossed over $100 million on a $23 million budget and, as is to be expected, a sequel was immediately announced.  Until recently the project seemed dead in the water.

According to Reese, he is excited about a script that he is currently working on with writing partner Paul Wernick. The story will still follow Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin on their journey across the country.  This time around, they will have some company from some new survivors.

Everyone has got to be wondering, myself included, if the sequel will have a cameo.  Bill Murray was a major asset to the first film.  His cameo helped propel the film to greatness in my mind. Reese went on to say that there is no way they would try to top the Murray cameo, so they have decided not to try.   The sequel willl be in 3D and they have focused their efforts on making the film as creative as possible, keeping the new technology in mind.

Reese stated...

"We're making 'Z2' a bigger movie. Everything will happen on a grander scale"..."The original cast all want to return. That said, none of them have seen the script yet. And if they love it or don't love it, that might impact their decision."

Even if there was a cameo like the first film, there is no way in hell Reese would mention that now.  The Murray cameo was kept under tight wraps so who knows with this one.  I am certain that the original cast will like this film.  The sequel would not work without them in my mind.  I personally would like Zombieland 2 not to be filmed or converted to 3D.
