Ben Foster has joined Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale in a new thriller being developed called Contraband. This film is a remake of an Icelandic thriller originally titled Reykjavic-Rotterdam.
Wahlberg plays a former smuggler trying to go straight as a night guard. When his wife’s brother (who got him the job) botches a smuggling run, his life is threatened and the night guard is dragged in for one more job. Foster plays the night guard's best friend and right hand man, who helps him take on the dangerous job.
Aaron Guzikowski, the writer behind 2009 Blacklist spec script Prisoners, wrote the script, and the star and producer of the original 2008 film, Baltasar Kormakur, will direct the remake for Working Title.
