Gwyneth Paltrow To Star In ROCK OF AGES

Movie by

Gwyneth Paltrow is set to star in the adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages. The film will be directed by Adam Shankman who directed Hairspray.

Here is what Paltrow had to say to EW,

“It sounds cool. I just got the script and I will read it on the plane home tomorrow. But it sounds like it could be fun.”

The film tells the story of a young couple living in Los Angeles through'80's rock hits. Jenno Topping, producer of Country Strong will also produce Ages.  Topping confirmed to EW that Tom Cruise is “in discussions” for a role in the film.

Tim McGraw, Paltrow's co-star in Country Strong has joked that she should go on the road as his opening act.  Paltrow's response to the idea of her focusing more on singing,

‘Let’s do it. Let’s make it happen.’ I don’t know about a whole tour but maybe a string of nights could be fun. I will probably do some more Glee episodes and maybe some more films that involve singing, but I’m not sure I would ever quit my current job and become a full-time singer. I love my day job and we already have a musician in the family.”

The more I see of Paltrow in Country Strong I want to see that movie. I knew she could sing from her role in Duets. What are your thoughts of this news?
