George Lucas Hand Picks His Favorite Images For The Book STAR WARS: FRAMES

Could this be the ultimate collection from the Star Wars universe? George Lucas spent over 2 years  hand-picking the images that went into Star Wars: Frames; a collection of favorite images from all six movies including some rare shots that you probably wouldn't recognize. Lucas and crew went through over 200,000 frames per film for this ultimate collection. This deluxe keepsake is limited to only 1138 pieces, that's right an homage to his first film, THX 1138. The price is a little steep at $3,000.00 and will be available on January 8th, 2011.

Including more than 1,400 images, the books come packaged in a spring-loaded, 25-inch-wide hardwood case with exotic inlays and sculpted medallions depicting Darth Vader and Yoda. Each set is numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Lucas, who began the project in 2005.

“Cinematography is not about technology,” Lucas said in a statement. “It’s about lighting, it’s about composition, it’s about taste. In the end, it’s about understanding your craft.”
