Andrew Garfield Cried when he put on the Spider-Man Costume
In a recent interview, Andrew Garfield revealed that he shed a tear when he put on the Spider-Mancostume for Marc Webb's new 3D reboot. Since we don't have any photos of him in the costume yet, all we really have to go off of is what Garfield say's about it.
It’s bizarre and I have to not look at my face. It’s strange and surreal to be wearing it and I won’t lie I actually shed a tear when I first wore the spandex for the first time. I didn’t expect to get so emotional but I did.
I guess I can relate to that... I cried after the first time I put on my Kick-Ass costume and got stabbed and hit by a car. No wait, that wasn't me. Garfield is obviously extremely exited to take on this role, and get paid to do it. Ya can't blame him, hell, I'd cry too!
He also talked about getting Tobey Maguire's blessing saying,
I've never met [Tobey Maguire]. He sent me a lovely message through a mutual friend and he gave me his support and it meant a great deal because a big part of why I have loved and continue to love this character was his portrayal. To step into those shoes is no mean feat... It was generous of him to reach out and say something so I'm thankful.
Garfield is a great actor, and I'm excited to see his portrayal as Peter Parker in this new Spider-Man film. The film is currently shooting for a July 3rd 2012 release date.
