Robert Downey Jr. Will Star in a Musical Comedy for Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. is planning to develop an untitled musical comedy for Robert Downey Jr. where he will play "one of two Broadway songwriters who find themselves creatively and financially bankrupt when their big-break musical is a huge flop. Searching for some inspiration for their comeback, they take jobs as counselors, teaching singing and dancing at the theater camp they attended as kids."

The scripts and lyrics will be written by Brian Yorkey and the music will be composed by Tom Kitt. I don't know much about these two individuals but apparently they are best known for the Pulitzer Prize-winning rock opera Next To Normal, which won 3 Tony Awards, including Best Score.

My only question is, can Robert Downey Jr. sing? I don't think I've ever heard him sing, but the article that this news comes from says that Downey is "a gifted singer." This should be interesting.

What do you all think about Downey Jr. starring in a musical?
