The writing and directing team that brought us the hilariously good film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, are currently in talks to direct a new comedy called Bob the Musical for Walt Disney Pictures.
The story follows a regular guy who, after a blow to the head, suddenly can hear the inner songs of everyone’s hearts as his reality is instantly turned into a musical, much to his dismay.
Lord and Miller are also scheduled to direct Sony Pictures' 21 Jump Street, starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. That film is scheduled to start shooting in the spring, so Bob the Musical would presumably follow.
The directing duo plan to bring on a new writer to do some work on the script. It was also revealed that Marc Shaiman, who composed the original music for Hairspray, is writing the music and lyrics for Bob the Musical.
