Bryce Dallas Howard has joined the cast of the film formerly titled I'm With Cancer. James McAvoy, Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick were already on board to star in the film, which is being directed by Jonathan Levine from a script by Will Reiser.
The story follows a man played by McAvoy who learns he has cancer and successfully battles the disease over several years. The character is based on the real experiences of screenwriter Reiser, who won his own fight with cancer in his mid-20s.
Summit Entertainment has acquired North American rights to Mandate's comedy, and the film will start shooting later this month in Vancouver.
