HAWAII FIVE-O Remake Casts Its Steve McGarrett

TV Casting by Joey Paur

As you may have already heard, Star Trek writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have been working on bringing the classic 1970's hit TV series Hawaii Five-O back to life on the small screen. Because TV show reboots for TV are becoming very popular. Look how successful Knight Rider and V were! Rebooting TV shows for TV is just a bad idea these days. There was a time when the world needed Hawaii Five-O, but seriously, that time has passed.

The new series will star Alex O'Loughlin, whose been cast as Detective Steve McGarrett, which was originally play by Jack Lord. Lost's Daniel Dea Kim has already been cast in the role of Detective Chin Ho Kelly.

O'Loughlin has had a pretty strong TV career appearing in shows such as Moonlight, Three River's, and The Shield.

Hawaii Five-O was “a special state police unit answering only to the Governor of Hawaii. It worked with Honolulu police to fight the underworld in the island state. Sooner or later virtually all the badguys heard Steve McGarrett grunt ‘Book ‘em, Danno!’”
