21 JUMP STREET gets Release Date and SEASON OF THE WITCH gets Bumped
Sony's action-comedy remake of 21 Jump Street has been scheduled for an August 5th, 2011 release.
The popular 80's show which starred Johnny Depp is being scripted by actor Jonah Hill and Michael Bacall, and has been described as a "full on action film where they are going to be blowing sh*t up, and that it will be an R-rated, insane, Bad-Boys-meets-John Hughes-type movie."
The big-screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street will mark the first live-action film from Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

...Lionsgate has postponed the release of the Dominic Sena-directed Season of The Witch, to avoid the now heavily overcrowded March 19th weekend, that would have pitted it against Universal's Repo Men, the Gerard Butler, Jennifer Aniston starrer The Bounty Hunter, and the highly-anticpated bipoic The Runaways starring Twilight's Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning (read review).
Season of the Witch was written by Bragi Schut and stars Nicolas Cage as a knight in the 14th century as he and his partner played by Ron Perlman, transports a girl suspected of being the witch behind the Black Plague to an abbey of monks trained in exorcising demons. Watch the Trailer Here.
