Cool Site: THE MOVIE TITLE STILLS COLLECTION

Movie by Eli Reyes

Amidst the cavalcade of posters and ads for movies, the evolving logos and the campaigns studios put the movies through to sell them to an audience, often times they no longer resemble what the filmmakers had in mind for the look of the titles. Here's a site preserving and reminding us what the opening titles of out favorite classic films look like.

Head on over to www.annyas.com/screenshots/ to visit The Movie Title Stills Collection. Sorted by decade, you can revisit some of the openings and closing titles to your favorite films in a matter of minutes, instead of going through your DVD collection or doing marathon Blockbuster or NetFlix sessions.

Here is what site creator/graphic-designer Christian Annyas had to say about the project:

I've seen a lot of movies over the years, and to prove I've sat through at least the first ten minutes of them I started making screenshots of the titles. Then my computer crashed and I almost lost them all. To save them for future generations I created this little website.

Included under many of the films is the movie's tagline, as well as places to buy the film. Click Here to visit the site.
